A very emotional and inspiring poem on World Peace...

I walked disappointed, looking down, in the mist.
Bombs, guns and wars spread with innocence amidst.

What happiness do they get from this?
From killing people and morals being amiss?

I walked further thinking about my very own creation,
And how they have brought only doom upon their generation.

I thought of ways that I could try to solve their hurdles,
But if in this test I helped them -- it would only increase their burden.

I walked further along the clouds and permitted myself to a groan,
Hoping that finally one day mankind could find their destiny alone.

A Message...

It was very painful… There was searing pain down my spine and all I could do was whine. No matter what I did, my hand was always aching. There were 4 Madams around me all trying to stop my crying. I was suffering severe pain that would never subside. I requested them not to call my parents as my parents would drop everything and come for me.

The Madams asked me how it all happened and I replied by saying that: I was playing tug of war. The opposite side let go of the rope, and I being behind someone who was way taller than me, was unaware of that, pulled even harder, and so I fell down my body-weight on my wrist. It was like any other strain but this one just would not end. On the contrary, it was even more painful. I could hear ringing sounds that were not real.

I was crying and so the madams called the sports sir. He checked my arm and later said that I need to consult a doctor. My mother, who was very busy within those days for she used to organized exhibitions and events while my father used to handle the business empire, against my wishes, was contacted. My father came to pick me up 15 minutes later. We went to the Doctor who first got an X-Ray done. Later we got it examined and we got the news that I had a Green-Stick fracture and needed a plaster. There was a night out at the school which was organized every year where we would spend one night at the school on a winter-weekend. There were lots of activities that were planned one of which being a talent show. I was scheduled to dance on a Bollywood song that night.

My plans were ruined and now I was all the more unhappy. Before getting my plaster done, I asked the doctor to finish it before evening as I had a dance. He allowed me to dance when I asked him if I could and as promised got my plaster done by 6:15. I then went home to freshen up. After that, I went back to school; danced my heart out and was appreciated for my courage, passions for dance, elegance and swagger.

I had that plaster cast for 3 weeks and for the rest of the time people wrote my examinations or did my homework while I dictated. I grew closer to so many people within these 3 weeks and now instead of remembering those 3 weeks as painful and sick times, I remember it as 3 weeks where I grew closer to people, learnt a lot of life skills and most importantly – fostered happy memories…

Thus, folks, I have 2 messages to share with all of you:

1. Be yourself; No matter what -- Enjoy Life [ Carpe Diem because YOLO ;) ]. The ultimate goal anyone should have is their happiness and if being a Multi-billionaire is what is going to give you happiness then follow your dream, work hard and achieve that goal. If just playing guitar all day is what makes you happy, then do it. However, that does not mean you break the law, or defy social norms or hurt sentiments or anything that you would regret when you have more sense (J) --- Just do not let them define you.

2. Do not let anyone tell you that you cannot do it… A great company once said: “Just do it.” JJ. Do not let anyone else decide your capacities for you. Had I not even dared to ask the doctor, I would not have danced, I would not have defied all the mind-sets of those people who thought I had no chance of dancing with a fracture on a December night nor would I have shown another glimpse of my passion for dance.

So guys and gals, moms and dads, bro and sis’, all those who are reading post you incidents in the comments section if you have any and it is also an offer to all those who are reading that if you ever want me to write on a certain topic please post the request in the comments section and await my response…

Lots of Gratitude,

Yet Another Cinderella Story...

“A Cinderella Story”

My friend took me to Paris’ most famous shopping mall,
She was all excited as she had to get a dress for that night’s ball.

The various colorful dresses and just seeing them got me on cloud nine,
She chose 25 of them and said, “Sadly only one can be mine”.

She tried the first one and she couldn’t help saying, “What is that?”,
But unfortunately, the very first dress made her look fat!

I jokingly said, “As it turns out, Cinderella has nothing to wear”,
She sarcastically  replied, “Maybe Fairy Godmother has some advice to share”.

I said, “Pick that dress in the corner, I know you’ll look lovely in it,
When the Prince sees you, I’m sure his heart will split”.

The dress was a tube, made of tulle of the most shocking pink ever seen,
She quickly signed the cheque and remained as happy as she had ever been.

So just like the story, Cinderella did go to the ball,
Moreover, she just loved being the prettiest girl in the hall.

Time came for choosing the dance partners at the ball,
But before the Prince could choose, Cinderella let out a bawl.

Her dream was battered, her hopes were shattered,
For her at that moment nothing else mattered.

The Prince did not choose her as he was not the first to choose,
It was his cousin, who unfortunately, looked like a goose.

After she went home, she told everyone why the dress was a waste of money,
And laughter followed and so she said, “It’s not very funny!”

After that day, Cinderella learnt her lesson and never got her hopes up high,
Because the tragic disappointment always made her cry.

So this was the story of Cinderella, who was as pretty as a doll,
But she never could get the chance of dancing with the Prince at the ball!

I would love to hear your views on this decision and all my upcoming posts. For the promise to post something new every fortnight, please refer the older post for I intend to keep the promise.

So, viewers please, even if it one line please post the feedback, issues [ If any and I certainly would ensure there aren't any ;) ], comments, views, suggestions or anything you would want me to know.

Viewers, also note: I would only see your comments every fortnight for I have my own high school stuff to work upon... Also, please make sure all you viewers have a discussion amongst yourself and along with me. It is always interesting to talk to people even when you do not know them :) :) :)

A Heart Touching and A Wonderful Essay on Saving Trees:-

A globe. What colors do we see–blue and green? These days we pollute mother earth very badly and slowly on the globe, there will not be any green left! I know we would not like that. You know, people do not value what they have until they have lost it.  Well, in this case it is trees.Trees are important, valuable and necessary for the existence of any living creature on earth. They are essential to life as we know it. They even help keeping the food chain or food web in balance and they are the most important things on earth because all animals and humans are dependent on it.
“The nature of our future depends on the future of our nature”.
Oxygen production, cleaning the soil, controlling noise pollution, taking in carbon dioxide but give out oxygen, cleaning the air, providing shade and coolness, act as our natural air conditioner can be considered as the first few reasons why trees are priceless. Trees also help-save energy, improve air quality, and solves health problems. They also have financial benefits - a variety of studies show that trees increase residential property values. People pay more for homes with attractive and fully- grown trees or that are in neighborhoods with trees.
Research has shown that the presence of trees in neighborhoods affect both physical and mental health of people living in town POSITIVELY. Hospital patients who have a view of plants and trees have recovered faster than those who have not.
Trees or plants would also make your house look beautiful and would increase the number of compliments regarding the beautiful garden of yours! ;)
Trees also help us by blocking the noise on the streets created by the traffic. Trees also give us food, which is the most important need in our life by this sentence I mean that indirectly trees or plants help us LIVE! We cannot live without food. Trees or plants give us fruits or vegetables. They increase the natural beauty of our home – “Earth”.
Trees give us rubber, paper, oxygen, wood, herbs, shade, cool breeze, gum, fruits, vegetable, grains, and shelter (not only to us by giving wood but also to animals like – birds, snakes, etc. in its tree-holes ).
“The more lightly we take the subject of deforestation, the more heavier it costs”.
On reading this essay, I am sure you have understood the importance of trees - so please STOP CUTTING TREES.  ON THE CONTRARY, PLEASE START PLANTING MORE TREES.  Save trees to change the future.
“God has cared for these trees, saved them from drought, disease, avalanches, and a thousand tempests and floods.  But he cannot save them from fools” - John Muir

Let Me Teach You The Nervous System

Nerve cells are also called neurons. There are 3 types of neurons - sensory, motor and association neurons.
Sensory neurons have sensitive nerve endings called receptors.

Sensory nerves are nerves which pass message to the brain and motor nerves are nerves which pass messages from the brain.

Association neurons are in the brain and the spinal cord. They interpret the messages and pass them on to motor neurons.

Each neuron has a cell body which contains nucleus and strands called nerve fibers.

There are 2 types of fibers –

Dendrites carry information to the cell body and Axons carry information away from the cell body.  The axons of 1 cell joins to another cell’s dendrites or a muscle to pass on information.

Nerves are cords that that contain bundles of nerve fibers  Sensory nerves have sensory neurons and motor nerves have motor neurons. Only mixed nerves have fibers from both. The spinal cord is a thick bundle of nerves, which runs from the brain down in your backbone. Impulses from all parts of the body pass through the spinal cord.

Information moves all along neurons in the form of electrical signals called nerve impulses. When an impulse reaches between one neuron and the next, a chemical called neurotransmitter is released. If enough of this chemical builds up in the next neuron, an impulse is sent on.

There are 2 types of actions – Voluntary and involuntary actions.
Voluntary actions are actions which are under our control like kicking a ball. We are conscious of it.
Involuntary actions are actions which are beyond our control like beating of the heart. We are unconscious about it.

In nervous system both brain and spinal cord pass messages through motor nerves. The spine or the spinal cord only gives messages when there is a sudden action like when you touch a cactus the reflex action is “OUCH”!

Reflex actions are involuntary actions. They are usually sudden movements, such as pulling your hand when you touch something hot. You become aware of them because of the impulses that are sent to the brain to tell you what is happening.

I hope I helped you understand a few things about our nervous system
